  • Beet
  • Apple
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Spinach

Carrots have lots of health benefits, including:

  • Dietary carotenoids (organic pigment), which have anticancer effects (antioxidants reduce freeradicals in the body)

  • Vitamin A (high in carrots) improves vision, and may help slow the aging process, regulate blood sugar, and improve immune function
  • Carrots also help lower the risk of heart disease. The presence of antioxidants protects the cardiovascular system and arteries from potential damage caused by highly oxygenated blood. Check out this great article for more information:

Apple is so delicious and contains:

  • Polyphenols, which have antioxidant properties that lower your risk of asthma and cancer, and improve blood sugar regulation.
  • Pectin lowers cholesterol

There are a lot of amazing things about beets

  • Betalains are the pigments that give beets their color. They have antioxidant properties and lower risk of asthma and cancer.
  • Beets have anti-inflammatory properties and help with detoxification (neutralizing toxins for excretion from the body)
  • Manganese also is full of antioxidants that lower asthma and cancer risks
  • Vitamin C defends your body from free radicals that can plug arteries, cause airway spasms/asthma attacks, damage colon cells to create cancer cells, contribute to pain seen in osteoarthritis/rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Beets are high in fiber!

Celery is largely composed of water, and contains:

  • Vitamin C
  • Manganese
  • Phytonutrients, which have anti-inflammatory properties and help protect the digestive tract and liver
  • Pectin - lowers cholesterol and has anti-inflammatory benefits

You can't get enough spinach, and here's why:

  • It's full of phytonutrients
  • Carotenoids are plentiful in spinach, which are antioxidants that contribute to eye health
  • Vitamin K prevents excessive activation of cells that break down bone
  • As if that wasn't enough, there is also Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Manganese, and Selenium - all chock full of antioxidants!
